Welcome to Granny’s Fresh Dressing! We’re glad you found us, and we’re excited for our family traditions of great taste and flavor to become a part of your family’s tradition as well!
While the story of Granny’s Fresh Dressing starts in early 2022, our family’s history of providing fresh dressing to East Idaho dates back three generations to a small “hole in the wall” restaurant in St. Anthony, Idaho. Our families spent countless hours working nights and weekends in the restaurant, where we learned the importance of providing quality products, using only the best and freshest ingredients. By the time the restaurant was sold in 2016, our families were not actively involved, as we had moved on to other careers, and none of us expected this story to have more chapters.
However, fast forward a few years to 2021/2022 and the story was, in fact, not finished. It was at this time that we started to notice there was a strong demand for fresh dressing in East Idaho that wasn’t being met. People frequently approached us wondering where and how they could find a good salad dressing that they were previously accustomed to. Their disappointment with bottled salad dressings and other’s failed attempts to replicate the great taste, flavor, and freshness of our family recipes was evident. So, in March of 2022, we made the decision start Granny’s Fresh Dressing and carry on our family’s legacy of bringing people their favorite dressings and dips to their dinner tables.
With the decision made, it was time to get to work. We found our location in Rigby, signed the lease, and set off on our journey. There was quite a bit of work to be done from remodeling our location to include a commercial kitchen, negotiating our vendor agreements with our retail partners, finding suppliers who met our standards for quality, creating our brand and graphics, sourcing containers and labels, and the list goes on and on…
Yes, it was a frenzy, but that was just the beginning! Once we obtained our licensing and finished our remodel, it was time to start selling dressing. Initially, our path to market included our storefront in Rigby and the weekly farmer’s markets in both Rexburg and Idaho Falls. It was not until our first farmer’s market in Rexburg, with a line of people reaching from our booth out past the entrance of the market, that we fully understood how long people had been waiting for quality salad dressing. We continued attending the weekly markets throughout that summer as we finalized our agreements with our valued retail partners and now Granny’s Fresh Dressing is available in grocery stores throughout East Idaho – and yes even a couple of gas stations and a soda shop!!!
